is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Ontario, CA to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, field inspections, writing reports, preparing permit applications, site drainage and grading designs, and learning the civil engineering trade. Over 10-12 weeks, this internship offers hands‑on experience supporting active project work in a collaborative environment.

In this role, you will support project work while helping the team stay aligned with project budgets, cross‑functional coordination needs, project goals, and client expectations. The team supports survey, transportation, and municipal work across Southern California and the Southwest, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Assist with design portions of civil projects related to discipline systems according to code and standards

Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment

Assist with client relations, project design notebook documentation, and permanent record files

Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams

Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress

Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check

Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information

Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement

Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required

Salary Ranges (by jurisdiction, in compliance with local laws):

State of California Hourly Range: $22.00 – $24.00

State of Nevada Hourly Range: $22.00 – $24.00
