Bohler Engineering Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience from concept to construction. You will support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments, working with a team of engineers, designers, and project managers.

Gain practical exposure to site design, zoning coordination, and real client work while developing skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills as part of daily team interactions.
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred; training provided if not yet proficient.

Responsibilities

• Experience day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of land development and site design process.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading plans, stormwater management plans, utility system plans, and soil erosion/sediment control plans.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to drive projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements.

About the Role

Bohler’s office in Raleigh, NC is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real‑world site design projects. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
