Bohler Engineering Group in Lehigh Valley, PA, invites a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience on real site design projects alongside engineers and project managers. You will work with AutoCAD Civil 3D to support concept and grading plans, stormwater and utility design, and coordination with local jurisdictions. Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering firm.
• Learn the stages of land development and site design process.
• Develop concept plans, grading plans, stormwater plans, and utility system plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to move projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and learn the engineering process in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to design improvements.

About the Role

Bohler's office in Lehigh Valley, PA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.

What You'll Do

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
  • Concept plans
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Utility system plans
  • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
