Bohler's Frisco, TX office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) to gain hands-on experience in site design and the land development process. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will work with engineers, designers, and project managers on real-world projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You’ll learn the stages of land development, coordinate with local jurisdictions, visit sites, and participate in team meetings to contribute ideas for design and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering or related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter attitude with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred; training provided if not proficient.
• Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.

About The Role

Bohler’s office in Frisco, TX is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
• Concept plans
• Grading plans
• Stormwater management plans
• Utility system plans
• Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
