Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an engineering intern to gain real-world experience in Transportation Engineering, focusing on Highway and/or Water Resources. You will work with professionals in a fast-paced setting and apply classroom knowledge to public infrastructure projects.

The role covers task exposure from feasibility through final plan preparations, with hands-on CAD tools and data analysis. Hybrid work policy supports on-site and remote collaboration, promoting professional growth and practical

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of MicroStation (primary software) or AutoCAD preferred.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications.
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for use during construction.
• Use of computer-aided engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Collects and prepares data for evaluation.
• Plan Development.
• Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
• Providing support to engineering staff members as needed.

The engineering intern experience at Jacobs will provide engineering students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in Transportation Engineering. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides students invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

The candidate would be exposed to tasks specific to Transportation Engineering with a focus in Highway and/or Water Resources Engineering.

Typical work tasks include

• Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for use during construction
• Use of computer-aided engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Collects and prepares data for evaluation

The base salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $65,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
