Job summary

RS&H, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Highway) for Summer 2027 in the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale area.

The intern will assist with design and plan preparation for roadway projects and will be mentored by experienced engineers. The role offers exposure to transportation engineering, data collection, and collaboration with engineers on real-world projects within the Infrastructure Business Unit. Candidates should be pursuing Civil Engineering degrees and possess strong communication

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles.
• Prepare and revise plan documents and details.
• Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
• Perform engineering with computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.
• Provide support to engineering and project management teams.

We currently seek a Highway Engineering Intern to join our Infrastructure Business Unit in either our Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, FL office.

The Highway Engineering Intern will be mentored by and will collaborate with top Engineering associates on our team. The position will assist on both design and plan preparation for roadway design. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Engineering Industry.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering at an accredited ABET university
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• 3.0 GPA or above
• Prior internship or related experience
• AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience
• Experience or exposure to FDOT plans preparation and design standards
• Specific interest in Transportation / Roadway Design
