Job summary

Thinklance LLP in San Diego, CA is seeking a Civil Engineering intern to support planning, take-offs, and modeling under senior engineers. You’ll review plans, assist in scheduling, and help prepare reports. You will work with engineers, drafters, and staff while applying codes and standards, using SAP2000, CSI Bridge, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year civil engineering program (BS preferred).
• Experience with Word, Excel, and engineering software such as SAP2000, CSI Bridge is preferred.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to integrity, innovation and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with engineering plans and details.
• Perform quantity take-offs.
• Assist with project monitoring and scheduling.
• Assist with computer modeling.
• Assist with producing progress reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.
• Assist in producing drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under senior engineers' supervision.
• Apply proper codes and standards in deliverables.
• Attend site visits or inspections.
