Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the summer to work under licensed engineers on real projects, gaining hands-on experience in site design, permitting, and construction documentation.

You will support layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D, collect field data, prepare documents, and collaborate across disciplines. Pursuing a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, with sophomore year completed preferred, and familiarity with Civil 3D or similar software.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Preferred: completed at least sophomore year by start date.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil site design, permitting, and construction documentation.
• Support site layout, grading, and drainage design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Collect field data and conduct site investigations.
• Prepare construction documents and technical reports.
• Collaborate with project teams across disciplines.
• Maintain organized project files and data.
• Attend team meetings and capture notes and actions.
• Assist with training and site walks.
