Job summary

Rocksol is seeking an Engineering Student Intern to gain hands-on experience in civil and roadway projects. You will assist with design and construction processes while building a foundation in transportation consulting.

You will work in a blend of field and office environments to develop essential skills. The role emphasizes applying engineering fundamentals, CAD drawing, data collection, and client documentation, under the guidance of Project Managers and Senior Engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Willingness to take direction and receive constructive feedback from senior staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently to perform assigned tasks, as well as to contribute positively to a project team.
• Positive can-do attitude and ability to interact well with a variety of people.
• Strong technical writing skills, including strong use of English grammar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Previous experience in using engineering software systems.
• Ability to travel to project work sites for extended periods as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fieldwork, inspections, data collection for transportation projects.
• Develop design drawings using CAD tools.
• Support project documentation for clients.
• Contribute to analysis and quantity calculations.
• Receive instructions from Project Managers and/or Senior Engineers.
• Adhere to requirements of Company Quality Management System (QMS).
• Fieldwork and travel to project sites required.
• Other duties as assigned.
