Job summary

Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH) seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to join our civil team in Omaha, NE. You’ll gain hands-on experience in municipal roadway and utility projects, both in the field and office, with mentorship from experienced engineers and project managers.

Open to students pursuing Civil Engineering or related degrees, you’ll assist with construction observation, surveying, design tasks, and AutoCAD drafting while supporting project development and client communication.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Available to work from the office during the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Able and willing to report to the Omaha, NE office several times per week during the school year and full-time in the office during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Support field staff by assisting with on-site construction observation, construction surveying, and staking.
• Assist project managers and engineers with project development and design tasks, while maintaining effective communication with staff, contractors, and clients.
• Accurately draft project information using AutoCAD and related software.
