Job summary

Pape-Dawson seeks a Civil Graduate in its Knoxville, TN office after December graduation to contribute to design, analysis, and implementation within an engineering team under a licensed P.E. You'll assist in technical design, project coordination, and ensure project-specific requirements are met.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), EIT or eligible within 12 months, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date.
• Previous internship with a civil design firm is beneficial.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and preparation of plans for grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives.
• Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using MS Office Suite.
• Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering solutions.
• Additional related duties as needed.
