Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering graduates to join our Phoenix, AZ office in 2026 on the Surface Water Team. This is an on-site, full-time role focusing on surface water management studies, modeling, and design.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree expected by Summer 2026 in Civil/Environmental or Mechanical/Electrical/Biosystems/Biological/Chemical/Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Analysts will learn software programs specific to their disciplines (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Synchro and/or GIS).
  • Previous software experience is a plus.

Job description

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering graduates to join our Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) office in 2026 on our Surface Water Team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including:
    • Surface water management studies
    • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
    • Analysis and design
    • Flood studies, resiliency and vulnerability assessments
    • Green infrastructure planning and design
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Contribute to the pre‑construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2026 in one of the following majors:
    • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
    • Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
    • Engineering Technology
  • Analysts will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Synchro and/or GIS. Previous software experience is a plus!
