Job summary

City Of Logan is seeking a part-time engineering assistant in Logan, Utah. Under supervision, you will support design, drafting, project management, and surveying for municipal infrastructure including sewer, water, and storm water systems, curbs, streets, and buildings.

Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited civil engineering or related program and hold a Utah Operator's License. The role involves field access, lifting, and site traversal, with duties spanning from initial scoping to final

Qualifications

• General knowledge of drafting theory and practice.
• Understanding of engineering design principles and standards.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in public works construction.
• Familiarity with engineering maps, records, and project specifications.
• Knowledge of surveying principles and instrumentation.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with contractors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft public infrastructure components (water, sewer, storm water, irrigation, roads, sidewalks, buildings).
• Perform simple surveying tasks and assist city surveyor with data collection.
• Assist with traffic counts and setting up traffic counting systems.
• Support development of information for the public and project documentation.
• Assist from scoping to final design, review contractor work for compliance, and support mapping and calculations.
