Job summary

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Civil Engineer to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, design stormwater infrastructure, and prepare technical reports supporting permitting and decision-making.

The role involves coordinating with multiple teams and may require up to 50% travel. The ideal candidate will have a Civil/Environmental degree (Master's acceptable), EIT eligibility, and hands-on experience with HEC-RAS, HY-8, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and QGIS, along with strong

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Environmental Eng with related experience.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic analyses and stormwater design.
  • Knowledge of green infrastructure and water quality monitoring.
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HY-8, AutoCAD, ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and technical report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater, floodplain and drainage studies.
  • Evaluate designs for detention/retention ponds, channels, culverts and drainage improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and documentation for permitting and submittals.
  • Coordinate with roadway engineers, planners, environmental teams, municipalities and clients.
  • Support project delivery with QA/QC and review of model results, plans and cost estimates.
  • Perform field work following Safety Plans and summarize work in reports.
  • Publicly present technical data and travel up to 50% domestically.

Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering in Austin, TX:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses for stormwater, floodplain, and drainage studies using industry-standard modeling tools
  • Create and evaluate engineering designs for stormwater infrastructure, including detention/retention ponds, channels, culverts, storm drains, and drainage improvements in compliance with local and state criteria
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and design documentation to support permitting, agency submittals, and project decision-making, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide integrated water resources solutions and address design restrictions
  • Coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders: roadway engineers, planners, environmental teams, municipalities and clients
  • Support project delivery through QA/QC and engineering oversight by reviewing model results, design plans, cost estimates and construction documentation to ensure consistent, reliable engineering outputs
  • Perform field work in accordance with approved Safety Plans
  • Summarize work products in technical reports and memorandums
  • Publicly present technical data
  • Up to 50% domestic travel required
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field of study and1 year of experience as Project Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field of study and 0 years of experience.
