Job summary

Transportation Drainage Lead position at AECOM in Phoenix, AZ, oversees drainage design for highways and transportation projects. You will guide a team of engineers and technicians, perform hydraulic/hydrologic analyses, and ensure compliance with stormwater regulations.

Lead client interactions and deliver high-quality design documents. Ideal candidates have PE status, Civil Engineering degree with substantial experience, and proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads, AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 6years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering + 10years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with design software including MicroStation and OpenRoads
  • Familiar with MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Experience designing highway/roadway systems in CO, AZ or UT
  • Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and PS&E
  • Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
  • Work with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary), and plan set production software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, Open Roads)

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff
  • Represent the organization in client meetings and public presentations
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in transportation drainage

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedTransportation Drainage Leadto join our team inPhoenix, AZ.In this critical role, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of drainage systems for various transportation infrastructure projects.

  • Oversee the design and analysis of drainage systems for highways, roads, and other transportation infrastructure projects
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in developing innovative and cost-effective drainage solutions
  • Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses using advanced modeling software
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater management and flood control
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental specialists and geotechnical engineers
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and construction documents
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staf
  • Represent the organization in client meetings and public presentation
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in transportation drainage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering + 10years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with design software including MicroStation and OpenRoads
  • Familiar with MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Experience designing highway/roadway systems in CO, AZ or UT.
  • Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
  • Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
  • Work within hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary ), and plan set production design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, Open Roads)
