Kimley-Horn's Charleston, South Carolina, (SC) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Transportation Planning and Traffic team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks for transportation planning, transit, traffic engineering, safety, and ITS projects.
• Contribute to the growth of the transportation engineering practice with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Manage projects profitably, deliver hands-on work, and mentor staff.
• Support marketing and business development efforts and pursue personal client interests.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, jurisdictions, and contractors on various projects.
• Build professional relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or ITS.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, and/or Vissim preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience in mentoring staff and delivering high-quality client service.
• Business development experience including proposal writing and budgeting.
