Job summary

Leoforce in Chicago seeks a permanent Civil Engineer to join our Transportation team. You will contribute to roadway geometric design and transportation system development using PowerGeopak, OpenRoads and MicroStation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in transportation design, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s or PE preferred), and strong project management and communication skills. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation design and planning.
• Proven experience with PowerGeopak, OpenRoads, and MicroStation.
• Strong knowledge of roadway geometry design.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Civil Engineer to join our Transportation team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a variety of exciting projects in the Engineering industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of transportation systems, with a focus on roadway geometric design. This position requires a solid understanding and practical experience with software tools such as PowerGeopak, OpenRoads, and MicroStation. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of transportation design.

• Strong knowledge of roadway geometric design.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex engineering concepts and designs to a variety of audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Advanced knowledge of local and national engineering standards and codes related to transportation design.
• Ability to conduct site visits, assessments, and inspections as necessary.
• Willingness to mentor and guide junior engineers.
