Qualifications

• One year of civil engineering experience and a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within nine months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Training Participation: Attend all assigned training phases and complete rotations in district and field offices.
• Engineering Tasks: Assist with studies, field analyses, inspections and design work for transportation projects.
• Project Support: Review plans, analyze conditions and help prepare engineering recommendations.
• Safety Inspections: Take part in bridge and project inspections to understand safety requirements and field conditions.
• Technical Development: Prepare reports and presentations to demonstrate progress and strengthen engineering skills.
