Job summary

Synectics Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer to join our team working on high‑voltage substation sites. You will design civil aspects for substations and switchyards, develop grading and drainage plans, and perform hydrologic calculations.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Mathcad is required, along with strong communication in English. You will collaborate with principal engineers, project teams, clients, and contractors, while managing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a US-accredited college or university.
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with Mathcad.
• Experience with civil site design, including grading and drainage.
• Experience with hydraulics and hydrology, including engineering calculations.
• Experience with SWPPP preparation and review is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and technical documentation skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with engineers, designers, clients, contractors, and coworkers.
• Fluent English proficiency is required.
• Must be able to read, understood, prepare, and review engineering drawings and technical docs in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of high-voltage substation sites with senior engineers.
• Civil engineering design for substations and switchyards.
• Develop site grading, drainage, and stormwater designs.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic calculations and analyses.
• Prepare civil plans, calculations, specs, and documentation.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and Mathcad for design and calculations.
• Review drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with SWPPP preparation and review.
• Coordinate with engineers, clients, designers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Identify design issues and develop practical solutions.
• Manage multiple projects to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and delegate tasks.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Assist with other civil projects as needed.
