Job summary

United States Army Installation Management Command (DOA) seeks a Civil Engineer to provide expertise in civil and structural engineering, construction contract development, and engineering studies for real property facilities at Fort Belvoir, VA.

The role requires serving as COR on A/E and construction contracts, directing complex engineering projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience: 1 year in civil/structural engineering.
• Prepare detailed structural design packages for construction.
• Review technical drawings and develop cost estimates for projects.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates programs to ensure compliance with environmental, energy use, safety, security and structural standards.
• Serves as COR on open-ended architectural-engineer (A/E) contracts and construction contracts.
• Directs, coordinates, and personally performs civil engineering duties for a wide variety of projects.
• Reviews, defines, and establishes parameters of work required, and reviews completed work for technical soundness.
• Prepares formal requests for A/E to develop a design and conduct a design study.
• Acts as POC and liaison to A/E personnel during on-site inspections.
• Chairs meetings concerning on-site inspections and design reviews.
• Serves as COR for one or more open ended contracts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) or higher

Combination of education and experience with PE/EI/EIT or FE exam
