Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Civil Engineer for Starbase Development (Residential) to lead civil design and execution from concept through construction in Starbase, Texas. You will coordinate with stakeholders, engineers and construction teams across disciplines to build-out the Starbase campus as the gateway to Mars.

The role requires a Bachelor's in civil engineering and at least 2 years of civil design experience, with onsite work in Starbase, TX and occasional travel. A Texas EIT or PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in civil technical design.
• Licensed engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for civil projects.
• Perform calculations supporting the civil infrastructure design of cut/fill, grading and drainage, stormwater control facilities, water quality and distribution.
• Oversee the civil aspects of construction in the field, including resolving design and construction conflicts, quality control, testing, and commissioning of systems.
• Collaborate on civil design projects with architectural design teams, construction teams, utility operational teams, facilities maintenance groups, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal utility stakeholders, AHJs, contractors and subcontractors.
• Manage project controls, prepare cost estimates and project schedules; drive projects to meet budgets and timelines.
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field with pragmatic, fast-moving solutions.
