Job summary

KPFF Seattle’s Civil Engineering team plays a key role in delivering site and infrastructure systems for mission-critical facilities. We seek a Civil Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to join our industrial practice in downtown Seattle.

You will engage in fast-paced projects across the Pacific Northwest and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver complex civil systems. The role emphasizes coordination, permitting support, and client relationships, with experience in

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 5+ years civil engineering experience under a licensed PE.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support civil design for industrial campuses, including site planning, grading, utility design, and stormwater systems.
  • Produce detailed drawings and support site engineering analyses using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, drainage studies, and design narratives communicating recommendations.
  • Coordinate projects, manage schedules, budgets, and tasks for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with contractors and consultants to guide design implementation during construction.
  • Build relationships with industrial clients by understanding operations and delivering site solutions.
  • Research codes, utility standards, and mission-critical requirements.
  • Support permitting with regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct site visits to assess field conditions and monitor progress.
  • Contribute to resilient, efficient site infrastructure for industrial facilities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
