Job summary

Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking a Civil Engineer to assist with commercial site development projects in Columbus, OH. The role offers exposure to diverse projects across industrial, residential, energy, and water sectors in the Midwest.

Responsibilities include design support, calculations, feasibility studies, stormwater modeling, and permitting coordination with internal MSG teams and external agencies. Growth toward PE or PLA is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field is required.
• EI certification is required, with potential to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months.
• Practical site development design and plan preparation experience is expected.
• Experience applying municipal, county, and state design standards and performing hydraulic/hydrologic analyses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support licensed engineers in designing commercial and site development projects.
• Prepare and review calculations, designs, and construction document sets.
• Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, and zoning studies.
• Perform stormwater modeling and drainage design.
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for developments.
• Coordinate with internal MSG teams and agencies for approvals.
• Apply design criteria to support permitting and project approvals.
• Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals.
• Support projects from concept through construction documentation.
