Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) is seeking a Civil Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize roads, grading and erosion plans for construction sites, with onsite site visits for estimation and design. You will work on diverse projects including solar development, coordinating with customers and engineers to ensure standards compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, 2–3 years’ experience, and a PE license or EIT in progress. Travel and proficiency with MS Office are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
• 2-3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license or EIT in progress with plans to obtain.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.
• Knowledge of applicable codes related to civil engineering.
• Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies.
• Entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and accountable for project decisions.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving history.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on projects while managing timelines to ensure on-time completion.
• Design and analyze site development, road design, grading, stormwater, erosion control, concrete, and geotechnical plans.
• Support analysis, design, implementation, or improvement of civil plans for solar projects.
• Operate CAD and other engineering software for site layouts, cut/fill and road design.
• Discuss existing or potential projects with customers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Prepare site specifications, drawings, or topographical maps to meet standards.
• Compute detailed calculations to establish construction standards/specifications.
• Coordinate installation, construction, maintenance, or testing activities to meet specs.
• Write reports and compile data for civil project studies.
• Engage with the project team from design through construction and travel as needed.
