Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) is seeking a Civil Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize roads, grading and erosion control plans for construction sites. You will collect site details onsite to aid estimation and design.

The role requires travel, collaboration with customers and engineers, familiarity with SWPPP, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and PE/EIT progress are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
• 2-3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineering license or EIT in progress with plans to obtain.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.
• Knowledge of applicable codes related to civil engineering.
• Must be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies
• Have entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and be accountable for project decisions and actions.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Experience collaborating on projects while managing timelines to ensure on-time completion.
• Design and constructability of site development, road design, grading and SWPPP plans.
• Support analysis and design for ground mount solar development.
• Operate CAD and engineering software for site layouts, cut/fill analysis, road design, etc.
• Communicate with customers and engineers about current or future projects.
• Prepare site specifications, drawings, or topographical maps to ensure standards compliance.
• Coordinate installation, maintenance, or testing activities as needed.
• Write reports and compile data for civil engineering studies.
• Engage with the project team from design to construction.
• Manage project files and maintain confidentiality.
