Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Civil division in Nashville or Chattanooga, TN. The role focuses on civil design for utility-scale and distributed energy projects within our Renewable Energy Group, spanning feasibility through construction administration.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of design experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/InRoads, HydroCAD, and AutoTURN.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with 2–5 years of design experience
• FE certification preferred but not required
• Design experience in Nashville is preferred
• Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, utility infra) preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads
• Proficiency with HydroCAD and AutoTURN required
• Experience in preparing construction drawings, reports, and permit packages
• Understanding hydrology and stormwater design principles
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with teams
• Willingness to perform field visits and attend project meetings

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of Civil Engineering projects, developing design concepts and performing detailed calculations
• Collaborate with engineers and staff during detail design; produce drawings and specifications
• Manage bid phases and support projects through construction and closeout
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients throughout project lifecycle
