Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Civil division with locations in Buffalo, Rochester, Elmira, or Albany, NY. The role involves contributing to all project phases from design concept to closeout and collaborating with fellow engineers and staff.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering and 2–5 years of design experience; NY design experience and Renewable Energy project exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with 2–5 years of design experience.
• FE certification is not required but preferred.
• Design experience in NY is preferred.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, or utility infrastructure).
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Microstation/InRoads; ability to use either for utilities and grading.
• HydroCAD, AutoTURN experience necessary.
• Experience preparing construction drawings, reports, and permit packages.
• Knowledge of hydrology and stormwater design principles.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with internal teams and clients.
• Willingness to perform field visits and attend project meetings.

Responsibilities

• The Civil Engineer will contribute to all phases of Civil Engineering projects, including design concept development, calculations, and collaboration with other engineers.
• Develop design concepts and perform detailed calculations, coordinating with engineers and staff during detail design.
• Produce high-quality drawings and specifications, manage bid phases, and support projects through construction and closeout.
