Job description

Otero Engineering is a privately owned, established civil engineering firm focused on land development projects throughout the Tampa Bay region. We are a small, collaborative team where engineers work closely and communicate directly.

We are seeking a Florida-licensed Professional Engineer who can design, draft, and deliver projects from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record on land development projects
• Lead projects from concept and due diligence through permitting and construction
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Manage project permitting and coordinate directly with reviewing agencies
• Manage client communication and project schedules
• Direct and review work prepared by junior engineers and designers
• Maintain quality control and deliver well‑coordinated, technically sound, field‑ready plan sets

This role includes responsibility for schedule, quality, and overall project performance.

Qualifications

• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 8+ years of land development experience
• Demonstrated experience serving as Engineer of Record
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D production capability
• Experience with stormwater management, grading, hydraulics, and utility design
• Familiarity with Tampa Bay permitting agencies
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently as well as in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading projects, interacting directly with clients and agencies, and remaining technically engaged in the work.
