Responsibilities

• Assist with technical timeline reports and construction support, including RFIs and submittal reviews.
• Occasional field visits for site assessments and observation of construction progress.
• Manage site plans, exhibits, and civil design kickoff meetings as needed.

Role Description

The Civil Engineer will work on-site in Mobile, AL in a full-time capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with project managers, other engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The Civil Engineer will assist with technical timeline reports, and construction support, including responding to requests for information and reviewing contractor submittals. This role also includes occasional field visits for site assessments and observation of construction progress.

CAD, Site Analysis & Exhibits

• Civil Analysis - Analyze Survey
• Overlay Survey with Site Plan in CAD
• Send Civil Building CAD File with Utilities & downspouts to Civil
• Site Plan Exhibits for Kalispell
• Site Plan Exhibits for Saraland
• Easement Exhibits for Dollar Tree Projects
• Send Site Plan Overlay to DT for review and approval
• Civil Design Kickoff Teams Meeting (as needed)

Geotechnical Analysis

• Analyze Geotech Reports and give analysis to Tim & Doug
• Review 1.5 Acre Commercial Development Civil Plans (2 rounds) - before official submittal
• Coordinate with all other disciplines

Bidding & Procurement

• Prepare Jiffy Lube Out to Bid Docs (front end specs)
• Prepare Dollar Tree Out to Bid Docs (front end specs)

Construction Administration

• Damage control - list potential solutions with time and money impacts to client so they can decide

Qualifications

• Foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Project Management.
• Experience working as a Civil Engineer on planning and design projects, with skills in project coordination and documentation.
• Knowledge of Planning practices related to land development, transportation, or municipal infrastructure.
• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. Does not have to be a PE.
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
