Job summary

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks a Civil Engineer to join our Alaska offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau. This is a hands-on design and project management role in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector.

You will design and manage multi-discipline projects for public and private clients, support teams across Alaska, and grow professionally while delivering high-quality solutions in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Alaska Professional Engineering License, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5 - 15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

The Civil Engineer designs and manages various types of projects in our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Junea Juneau, Alaska office for public and private sector clients. This is a hands-on engineering design position in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector and will include working on variety of multidiscipline design and construction projects. Qualifications

Required

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Alaska Professional Engineering License, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5 - 15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to manage teams and contracts on multiple projects concurrently.
• Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Preferred

• Knowledge of Civil3D modeling (corridors, grading, pipe models, etc.), quantities, calculations, and cost estimating is a plus.
• Experience in preparing design drawings and design calculations for utility, site, and roadway improvement projects.

Compensation:Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
