Position Overview

Senior Civil Engineer – Sarasota, FL. This opportunity offers numerous project challenges for an engineer to apply their technical understanding and application of engineering principles and practices to a variety of multi‑discipline civil projects throughout SW Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of technical experience in stormwater systems, water quality, storm‑water collection systems, and pipeline design. Candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply.
• Professional Engineer registration in FL.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Project management experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Job duties include project engineering and management. Client management, including the ability to make fluent presentations, and client development activities. Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary.
• Provide project engineering and task management; conduct collection systems modeling and design; collect and present data in reports, memos, and meetings; lead design calculations and technical reports; and prepare engineering plans and specifications for design of facilities and related infrastructure.
• The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi‑disciplined team.
• Work independently in addition to planning, organizing, and assisting professionals, dependent on project/task.
• Assist with training and mentoring of less experienced staff.
• Conduct planning, plan formulation and concept development.
• Assist in project permitting efforts with various regulatory and municipal entities.
