Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Civil Engineer (P.E.) to join our Design Services team for development projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, with opportunities in Hunt Valley, MD and Hanover, MD. This role leads design and plans related to site layout, grading, erosion and sediment control, and post-construction stormwater.

NPDES permits and land development applications must align with local ordinances; zoning compliance is also required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in erosion and sediment control design, and post construction stormwater design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3-D, and HydroCAD.
  • Engineer in Training Certificate Required. Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Understanding of Land Development Processes.
  • Understanding of Zoning Ordinance Review & Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our current staff on the development of designs and plans related to site layout & grading.
  • Oversee erosion and sediment control design and post-construction stormwater management.
  • Prepare NPDES permit applications and land development applications in line with ordinances.
  • Ensure zoning compliance across projects.

Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Civil Engineer (P.E.) to work with our current team on various development projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, including the challenging & rewarding projects relating to land development and power grid resiliency. Other projects the individual may be involved with are commercial, industrial, solar, and mining development projects. This position is available in the following locations:

  • Hunt Valley, MD
  • (Baltimore) Hanover, MD

Responsibilities:

This individual will be tasked to lead our current staff on the development of designs and plans related to:

  • Site layout & grading.
  • Erosion and sediment control design.
  • Post construction stormwater management in multiple state jurisdictions (experience in PA, WV, OH, and MD is preferred)
  • Prepare NPDES permit applications
  • Land development applications in accordance with federal, state, and local ordinances.
  • Zoning compliances.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in erosion and sediment control design, and post construction stormwater design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3-D, and HydroCAD.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Engineer in Training Certificate Required. Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Understanding of Land Development Processes.
  • Understanding of Zoning Ordinance Review & Compliance.

The expected salary range for the position is displayedin accordance withthe Maryland Wage Transparency Law. Finalagreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.Salary range: $91,000 - $129,043 per year.
