Job summary

Morrison‑Maierle in Billings, MT is seeking a Civil Engineer to design and deliver municipal infrastructure projects, including site development, utilities, water systems, and transportation components from concept through construction. The role involves producing plans, calculations, and reports, coordinating with senior engineers and clients, and leading defined portions of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering
• EIT designation required
• PE license preferred or able to pursue after hire
• Experience in civil engineering design and construction
• Ability to manage defined portions of projects
• Strong communication with clients, contractors, and regulators

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses, design calculations, and modeling for civil infrastructure with moderate independence
• Develop plans, specs, and estimates using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS
• Review design options and recommend compliant approaches
• Support project managers in planning and scheduling
• Lead portions of projects and task-level work plans
• Prepare permitting documents, technical reports, and presentations
• Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observation
• Review submittals and RFIs; provide technical support during execution
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
• Ensure QA/QC and compliance with safety standards
