Civil Engineer - Land Development (Entry Level)

Graduate Civil Engineer (Land Development / Infrastructure / Transportation)

  • Job Type: Full-Time, long-term career opportunity
  • Pay Rate: ~ $30–$40+/hr (W2) | ~ $62,400–$83,200+ (Negotiable, DOE)

A growing civil engineering firm is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to support infrastructure, land development, and transportation projects in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This is a long-term career opportunity offering hands-on experience and mentorship in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in civil engineering design and analysis for roads, drainage systems, and site development projects
  • Prepare drawings, calculations, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed
  • Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D for project drafting and modeling
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using PondPack, StormCAD, and/or ICPR4
  • Assist with feasibility studies, data collection, and cost estimating
  • Ensure design compliance with local codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Support the engineering team with coordination and documentation tasks

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Ability to pass a basic CAD test
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills

Preferred:
  • EIT certification or working toward it
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic software (PondPack, StormCAD, ICPR4)
  • Understanding of local engineering standards

Position Details:
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Location: Onsite in Jacksonville, FL (not remote or hybrid)
  • Overtime: Expected and paid at 1.5x rate
  • Job Type: Contract-to-Direct Hire (FTE conversion after ~ 6-months) | Direct Hire also considered
  • Background Check: Required (7 years)
  • Drug Screen: Required
  • Sponsorship: Not available
  • Dress Code: Business Casual
