Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a civil engineer with strong site design and land development experience to join our team in the United States. The role involves designing land development projects, coordinating with agencies, and leading delivery from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, an EIT, and 5+ years on-site design experience, with proficiency in Civil 3D, MS Office, and stormwater tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• EIT required, PE preferred or on track.
• 5+ years of experience with site design and land development projects.
• Experience with PADEP permitting processes and coordination is preferred.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and MS Office; HydroCAD or similar stormwater modeling software preferred; HEC-RAS experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and local permitting processes.
• Excellent technical communication skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed civil engineering design for land development projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design.
• Support site feasibility studies, due diligence, and zoning/code compliance reviews for a variety of development projects.
• Prepare and review design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and engineering reports.
• Assist with permitting and approvals, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies and responding to agency comments.
• Collaborate with project managers, planners, and survey teams to ensure projects move efficiently from concept through construction.
• Track project progress, manage deliverables, and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Participate in client, contractor, and municipal meetings, documenting key decisions and follow-up actions.
• Provide support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits as needed.
• Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, budgets, and progress tracking within internal systems.
• Actively pursue professional development opportunities, with a focus on advancing within land development engineering.

What We’re Looking For
