Job summary

GRAEF in Chicago is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 to learn site development, municipal and transportation engineering, and construction inspection.

You will be immersed in an mentorship-driven program with exposure to real projects, teamwork, and community engagement. This internship offers hands-on learning and a supportive environment at GRAEF.

Qualifications

• Current sophomore standing while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction or Environmental Engineering.
• If you have taken a Surveying course, that would be considered a plus.
• Prior internship experience is a plus.
• Ability to grasp new concepts and eager to learn new things.
• Enjoy a balance of independent tasks and working with a project team.
• Hourly pay rate is between $22-$24/hour.

Responsibilities

• Learn civil engineering duties related to site development.
• Learn municipal and transportation engineering.
• Learn construction inspection practices.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a student who is interested in joining our team of professionals through an Internship experience. We have an opportunity in our Chicago office located in the President's Plaza beginning in the summer of 2027. Our new intern will spend time learning civil engineering duties related to site development, municipal engineering, transportation engineering and construction inspection.

We are considering students who meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Current sophomore standing while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction or Environmental Engineering.
