Job summary

Walbec is seeking a Civil Engineering Summer 2027 Intern to support engineering teams with civil and structural plans, details and recommendations for various projects. You will review project requirements, site conditions and applicable design standards, and participate in field visits and project meetings.

Shadowing experienced engineers and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience while developing critical skills in design, analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related field.
• Interest in structural, transportation and heavy-civil engineering.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The Position

Support engineering teams with civil and structural plans, details and recommendations for various projects. Review project requirements, site conditions and applicable design standards. Participate in field visits, site investigations and project meetings. Support plan revisions, contractor questions and other project delivery activities. Shadow experienced engineers and project managers to gain hands-on experience.
