Job summary

Providence Engineering and Environmental Group LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for part-time work in Baton Rouge. The role involves supporting engineers and designers with field coordination, data collection, submittals, basic design calculations, and preparing project plans and specifications for civil and environmental projects.

Responsibilities include drafting technical documents, assisting with project management tasks, and helping compile and submit permits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or enrollment in a 4-year program.
• Ability to obtain Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification.
• Experience with execution of civil projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and organizational abilities.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft technical documentation supporting design decisions and observations, reviewing data and entering data.
• Prepare basic design calculations and analyses.
• Use design software to design systems and facility improvements per guidance of a licensed engineer.
• Present findings to colleagues and clients on proposals, RFIs, and project designs.
• Assist with various engineering and environmental projects.
• Manage safety compliance with clients and internal requirements; complete necessary training.
• Assist with project tasks such as researching, compiling, evaluating data, and addressing plan comments.
