Pinnacle Engineering Group (PEG) invites applications for a 2027 Civil Engineer Intern to join our team of professionals. The intern will gain hands-on project support, experience in design, drafting, and documentation, and mentorship from senior engineers.

The internship emphasizes foundational engineering knowledge, safety, quality expectations, and professional growth within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field from an accredited program.
• Must have completed at least 1 year of study.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Basic CAD drafting experience (Civil 3D preferred).

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge through mentoring and self-directed learning.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design elements, basic drafting and technical analyses under supervision.
• Assist in preparing plans, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
• Use basic CAD drafting skills (Civil 3D preferred) and office software proficiently.
• Apply established design methods, codes, standards and procedures.
• Support the team in estimating time to complete tasks and communicate delays.
• Perform work per company standards, safety policies and ethical guidelines.
• Seek guidance from senior engineers and apply feedback to improve performance.
• Perform additional duties to meet project goals.
• Maintain professionalism, safety and compliance with company standards.

Summary

The Civil Engineer Intern is responsible for developing foundational engineering knowledge and skills through mentorship and hands-on project support. The Civil Engineer Intern contributes to design, drafting, and documentation efforts while applying basic engineering principles and standards. This role supports team objectives while promoting professional growth, strong communication, and adherence to safety and quality expectations.
