TRC Companies in Chicago, IL invites applications for a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing engineering team. The role collaborates with diverse engineers on infrastructure projects for municipal, county, commercial and industrial clients.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree with 3+ years in infrastructure design, are willing to travel up to 50%, and possess a valid driver’s license. Growth toward PE licensure and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 3+ years of civil infrastructure design and/or construction experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Involves infrastructure development studies, plans, specs, and cost estimates for projects such as rail yards and water/wastewater facilities.
• Apply engineering best practices for civil or mechanical projects for a variety of clients.
• Assist senior staff with plans, scheduling, budgeting, memos, and cost estimates.
• Assist senior staff with construction management tasks like submittal reviews and coordination with contractors.
• Conduct site visits, surveys, data collection, and assessments for infrastructure projects.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with cities/clients and public agencies.
