Job summary

GLS | Architecture-Engineering-Surveying is seeking a Civil EIT to join a project team and assist with civil engineering and design duties for water, sewer, roadways and drainage projects. Responsibilities include design, calculations, scheduling and coordination, with supervision to develop skills.

Ideal candidate has an ABET-accredited degree and an active Texas EIT certificate, with strong teamwork and a drive toward professional licensure in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ABET-accredited Engineering discipline (or pursuing).
• Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate in Texas.
• Basic knowledge of civil engineering design.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil engineering projects including site plans and roadway designs.
• Prepare engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct field inspections to monitor construction progress.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses.
• Work towards a Professional Engineering license in Texas.
• Assist project managers with timelines and design work.

Job description

Civil EIT will work as a member of a project team to perform civil engineering and design duties for projects that include: water systems, sewer systems, roadways and/or drainage. Assignments will be closely supervised and are designed to further develop employee's job knowledge and abilities including: engineering design plans, calculations and reports, project scheduling, project budgeting, cost estimating, project management/coordination, interface with clients and interface with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil engineering projects, including site plans, grading plans, storm water management systems and roadway designs.
• Prepare engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct field inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses.
• Working towards a Professional Engineering license in the State of Texas.
• Work closely with project managers to establish project timelines and designs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ABET accredited university working towards a bachelor's degree or higher in ABET accredited Engineering degree.
• Maintains an Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate in the State of Texas.
• Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering design.
• Individual should have a strong work ethic and ownership of projects and be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects and balance work load.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
