Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, part of Austin Industries, is seeking an Engineer II to join the Heavy Civil project team in San Antonio, Texas. You will contribute to cost estimates, schedules, submittals, and coordination with subcontractors to keep projects on track.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background, strong communication skills, and hands-on experience with large-scale heavy civil construction, bridges, and concrete work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2–7 years of experience in large-scale heavy civil aviation construction projects (bridges/concrete).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with project teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials and ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for proposed changes.
• Update contract plans and master schedules.
• Oversee and manage submittals.
• Track materials, coordinate projects, and enforce safety standards.
• Analyze, review, and update job cost information.
• Process change orders per project owner requirements.
• Manage subcontractors effectively.
• Respond to RFIs from owners and subcontractors.
• Compile and deliver close-out documents, including drawings, warranties, and service manuals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
