Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is expanding into Knoxville, TN and seeks an entry-level EIT II to support planning, design, analysis, and delivery of land development projects under a licensed PE. You will collaborate with project managers, clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes site development design, grading, drainage, stormwater analyses, reports, and coordination to meet codes and permitting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification, preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and applicable codes/standards.
• Proficiency with common engineering software, drafting/design tools, and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support design and preparation of civil site development plans for various projects.
• Perform site layout, earthwork calculations, and stormwater analyses.
• Assist with reports, exhibits, and documentation for zoning, entitlement, and permitting.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies for permitting and compliance.
• Assist in planning, analysis, and design under guidance of senior engineers.
• Prepare engineering calculations and deliverables under supervision.
• Utilize engineering software, drafting tools, and standard office apps.
• Coordinate with project managers and teams to support delivery.
• Communicate technical information clearly in drawings and documents.
• Manage assigned tasks to meet schedules and quality expectations.
• Participate in internal meetings and coordination efforts.
• Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and standards.
