ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $67,536.00 - 112,560.00 (Salaries are paid biweekly)
ANNUAL ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $74,000.00 - 86,000.00 (Salaries are paid biweekly)

Job Summary

Engineering work related to the design and constructionof water utility systems including water treatment and distribution, wastewatertreatment and collection, storm drainage and detention, and floodplainmanagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Performs work in support of municipal engineering projects and under the direction of experienced Engineers which may include an essential combination of the following:
  • Reviews and coordinates review of project plans/designs for compliance with engineering principles, federal, state, county and, city regulations; prepares recommendations for approval or denial.
  • Coordinates with other departments or agencies to facilitate conflict resolution, project implementation and compliance to standards.
  • Performs work in support of multiple engineering and construction projects.
  • Compiles, researches and analyzes reports, records, drawings and other data to support the planning, design, and/or evaluation of projects or programs.
  • Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and/or designs for projects.
  • May inspect sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Serves as a technical information resource for the public, consultants and developers, City boards and departments, and City Council regarding specific projects or general engineering questions; may prepare presentations and written materials.
  • Participates in staff, project review, and policy meetings.
  • May develop and operate complex computer simulation models.
  • May administer or monitor project budget.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Preferred College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Some applied engineering experience preferred, but not required.

  • Valid driver's license.
