The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Design, has multiple full-time vacancies for Civil Engineer I, II and III positions.
Performs entry- level civil engineer duties during assignment to seven bureaus within the DOT over an 18-month period, which allows exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines in Highway Design Bureau.
To perform basic engineering duties for a variety of engineering projects in Highway Design Bureau.
To supervise and coordinate complex engineering activities for a group of highway projects in Highway Design Bureau.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Experience: No experience required
OR
Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering or engineering technology.
Experience: Two (2) years of post-graduate experience in an engineering field in a position comparable to an Engineering Technician.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license and/or have access to transportation for statewide travel.
Other Requirements: Applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the hiring agency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of the fundamentals of engineering including a working knowledge of advanced high school mathematics.

Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering or engineering technology.
Experience: Eighteen (18) months of experience in an engineering field at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I (or higher), plus two (2) additional years of experience in a position comparable to an Engineering Technician.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license and/or have access to transportation for statewide travel.
