Job summary

RRC Power and Energy in Round Rock, TX seeks a Civil Engineer I to support design and oversight of construction projects in the energy sector. The role involves on-site investigations, data analysis, and creating feasible technical blueprints with guidance from senior staff.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and be proficient with AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Ability to provide own design and production.
  • Ability to manage staff and clients.
  • AutoCAD proficiency is a must; Civil 3-D is preferred.
  • Experience in Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy is a plus.
  • Site grading experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain projects from small to large scale.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings).
  • Carry out technical studies and draw up blueprints meeting specifications.
  • Assess risks, materials and costs and provide advisory solutions.
  • Oversee staff, liaise with stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor progress and compile project status reports.

RRC is seeking a talented Civil Engineer I to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Austin/Round Rock Texas office. RRC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
  • Assess potential risks, materials and costs
  • Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
  • Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
  • Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
  • Experience in Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Ability to provide own design and production
  • Ability to manage both staff and clients
  • AutoCAD proficiency is a must, Civil 3-D is preferred
  • Experience in Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy
  • Exceptionally skilled at site grading a plus
  • Identifying project scope and budget management
  • Knowledge of MS programs such as Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Experience in Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy a plus
  • Sitting for prolonged hours, standing, walking, and lift up to 15lbs
