Job summary

Jpclengineering is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to perform on-site construction inspections under a licensed Professional Engineer. You will assist senior engineers in developing construction documents, project proposals, and provide technical support for field issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with about 2 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required, plus 2 years of work experience in related roles.
• Knowledge of construction materials (reinforced concrete, masonry, soil, steel) and their applications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D & 3D, ETABS, SAP2000, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6.
• QA/QC inspections, laboratory testing, and calibration of testing equipment per applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site construction inspections under the supervision of a licensed PE to verify OSHA, design, and code compliance.
• Assist senior civil engineers in developing construction documents, including plans, notes, specs, and details using CAD/2D/3D software.
• Assist in development of project proposals and provide technical support for construction problems or repairs.
• Perform soils or materials testing to assess foundation and material strength.
• Maintain laboratory testing materials, equipment inventory, and calibration records.

Job Duties:

• Perform on-site construction inspections (e.g., concrete, masonry, soil,steel) under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), to verify compliance with OSHA safety regulations, engineering drawings, design specifications, and applicable codes/standards.
• Assist a senior civil engineer indeveloping construction documents that include structural framing plans, foundation and superstructure detailing, notes, specification and typical construction details using AutoCAD, ETABS and SAP.
• Assist senior civilengineer in the development of project proposals.
• Provide technical support to industrial personnel, under the supervision of a licensed PE, regarding design, emerging construction problems/deficiencies, program modifications, or structural repairs.
• Perform testing of soils or materials, under the supervision of a licensed PE, to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.
• Assist with the maintenance of all laboratory testing materials, equipment inventory, and calibration records.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 2 years of work experience as an Assistant Divisional Engineer, Divisional Engineer, Construction Engineer, Civil Engineer I, Civil Engineer, or a related occupation required.

The required work experience must include 2 years of experience with the following:

• Demonstrated knowledge of construction materials including reinforced concrete, masonry, soil, and structural steel, and their application in construction;
• Use engineering tools including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil2D & 3D, ETABS, SAP2000, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, AISC,OSHA Safety Laws and Regulations, and ISO quality standards.
• Performing QA/QC inspections, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, and soils and calibration of testing equipment in line with applicable codes and standards.
