Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer in Long Beach, CA to join the Special Projects Division. You’ll work on heavy civil and industrial infrastructure, expanding expertise in design, project management, and client service within a collaborative team.

You will engage in site development, design reviews, and mentoring while advancing skills in leadership and communication, in a flexible, hybrid environment with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Minimum three years of full-time experience in civil/site development engineering design (internship counts separately).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Proficiency and experience in AutoCAD for construction document creation.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering expertise to diverse projects, collaborating on solutions in utility, street, design/build, and transportation infrastructure.
• Contribute to waterfront and industrial developments.
• Learn to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor team members and support their professional growth.
• Assist in managing project tasks, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance.
