Role Overview
Apply civil engineering expertise to create realistic evaluation materials that help train and assess next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role centers on translating real-world engineering practice into technically rigorous tasks, solutions, documentation, and grading standards. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and author authentic civil engineering evaluation tasks involving structural design, transportation, water systems, and site development.
- Source, generate, and curate technical materials, including engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, specification sheets, cost estimates, and regulatory code references.
- Create complex engineering problems requiring constraint reasoning and code compliance.
- Determine accurate solutions while satisfying applicable regulatory and geometric constraints.
- Develop detailed, multi-item rubrics for assessing technical correctness and adherence to codes.
- Create and validate high-volume realistic project data files, including CSVs, PDFs, and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to refine task clarity, realism, and evaluation standards.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience contributing to civil engineering projects across diverse domains.
- Professional Engineer license, or active pursuit of licensure, strongly preferred.
- Strong command of civil engineering, code compliance, technical documentation, and complex constraint reasoning.
- Experience preparing and managing design specifications and other technical documentation.
- Experience sourcing and interpreting regulatory codes and incorporating them into technical solutions.
- Ability to create or review complex artifacts such as drawings, reports, and project-evaluation data sets.
- Clear written communication skills for producing comprehensive evaluation materials.
Work Terms
- Remote independent-contractor engagement.
- Compensation is output-based and paid for each task that meets project specifications.
- Completion time varies based on experience and workflow.
- Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks per week.
- Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24-48 hours after completing onboarding.
Compensation
$50-$100 per hour.
