Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) collaborates with an established civil engineering firm in East Metro Atlanta to hire a Senior Civil Engineer. You will lead site development and infrastructure projects from concept through construction, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, 8–10 years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong knowledge of permitting and client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8–10 years of civil engineering experience (site development/infrastructure).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Strong knowledge of permitting processes (local/state/federal).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Overview

An established civil engineering firm in East Metro Atlanta is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead site development and infrastructure projects from concept through construction. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and play a key part in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for clients.

What you'll do

• Lead civil engineering design efforts for site development, infrastructure, grading, drainage, and utility systems
• Prepare and review engineering plans, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
• Oversee project execution to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies throughout project lifecycles
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and quality oversight
• Perform and review hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater management systems
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and support proposal development efforts as needed
